Command VARIABLE creates various SIC variables mapping the
observation and data headers (see corresponding HELP for more
details). This allows use in procedures and also to modify some value
in the header or data file with the MODIFY command. Be very
cautious in doing so, because some parameters have to be modified
consistently.
