CONVERT
CONVERT
This task produces files that contain two planes: the source in the
first, the weighting function in the second. The MAP procedure plots the
weights if the variable PLOTWEIGHT is true (Default value of PLOTWEIGHT
is NO). Depending on variable SCAN_LIST two different processes are
executed:
- SCAN_LIST is left open. The task CONVERTs the single-beam maps of
all unflagged channels which were obtained with RESTORE or with the
SHIFT_AND_ADD technique to a single equatorial map. The horizontal
maps are weighted with their one sigma noise level (CHAN_RMS) squa-
red, shifted to a common reference position, transformed to the
equatorial frame of reference and, finally, combined to a single
map. By default, CONVERT uses the same gridding function as MAKPLAN.
- SCAN_LIST contains a list of scans: the task creates a mosaic from
the equatorial maps associated with a list of scans. Each map is
weighted according to its weighting function, shifted to the common
center of reference, and added. Modify the center of reference and
the size of the mosaic by setting the appropriate input variables.
Type INPUT CONVERT to verify the content of the variables.
As CONVERT produces mosaics with the source name as filename, use
command MAP Source_Name to plot the results.
