In interferometric mode, the correlator produces two different types of data: spectral data, i.e. time-averaged values of amplitude, phases or total-power as a function of frequency, and temporal data, i.e. frequency-averaged values of amplitude, phases or total-power as a function time. spectral data is obtained once every integration time, while temporal data is obtained every dump time. The minimal dump time is 1 second.
Some actions will deal essentially with spectral data (e.g. GAIN, BANDPASS), while others utilize only the temporal data (e.g. POINT, FOCUS, HOLOGRAPHY, STABILITY, FLUX).
