GILDAS was initiated in 1983 at the Observatoire de Grenoble. It developed as a collaboration between IPAG/Grenoble and IRAM. Some contributions were developed by additional partners (LAB/Bordeaux and Obs. de Paris). Today, the developments and maintenance is ensured by IRAM. ATM is developed and maintained by IFF-CSIC.

Contributions from, and discussions with all GILDAS users are gratefully acknowledged.
