To help bookkeeping and enable recognition of file types based on their
extensions, observers and operators MUST use the following file
extension conventions:
- The file extension length should not exceed 12 characters.
- .LOG-OBS for OBS logfiles, .LOG-RDI for RDI logfiles,
- .IPB for CLIC data files.
- .OPT for optical pointing data, .OPTICAL for optical
pointing fits, .RAD for radio pointing data, .RADIO for radio
pointing fits,
- .OBS, .CLASS, .GREG, .CLIC, .ASTRO, etc... for commands
procedures for OBS, CLASS, GreG, CLIC, ASTRO, and other SIC
based programs.
- .GDF for GILDAS images, or .LMV (and its permutations)
for data cubes (to indicate Longitude Latitude Velocity cube and other
possible orders), and .UVT for UV-tables.
- .GILDAS for GILDAS tasks logfiles (compulsory).
Data files from RDI (.IPB respectively) are named from the
observing date, DD-mmm-YYYY. The same name should be kept for the
corresponding reduced data files, additional keywords should be
appended to the extension in this case.
